YDL – Match 3
November 7, 2025VP went into Match 3 of the Scottish National Athletics league on Sunday 30th of June and ended Match 3 with a 200+ point lead. Here is a rundown of some of the fabulous performances.
Starting with the Hurdles. In the U17 Men’s 100mH, Angus Macleod was 2nd in a time of 15.07s. In the Women’s 100mH, Zoe Loughery was 4th in heat 2 in a time of 17.01s . In the U17 Women’s 80mH, Aneesah King Oubacha was 3rd in heat 2 in a time of 13.65s and Lucy Kernahan was 5th in heat 2 in a time of 13.92s.
We had a big pool in the Men’s 800m, we saw Allan Cameron who was 7th in heat 3 in a time of 2:10.44, followed by Andrew Dunn who was 2nd in heat 4 in a time of 2:01.76 and Graeme Laing who was 6th in heat 4 in a time of 2:10.17. In heat 5 we had Corey Donaldson who was 8th in a time of 2:17.24 and Finally we had Jamie Turner in heat 6 who was 7th in a time of 2:19.13. In the women’s 800m Arianna Carmichael went solo for VP and placed 4th in a time of 2:50.73.
As always we had a big turnout for the Men’s 100m. In heat 1 we had Sol Stewart who was 2nd in a time of 10.91s, In heat 2 we saw David Wilson who was 1st in a time of 11.07s. In heat 3 we saw Branden Dunlop who was 3rd in a time of 11.54s and Finaly Hall who was 8th in a time of 11.96s. In heat 4 we had Ivor Scott who was 5th in a time of 11.82s. In heat 5 we had Andrew Bennie who was 5th in a time of 11.83s and Corey Donaldson who was 7th in a time of 12.04s. In heat 9 We had John Taylor who was 6th in a time of 14.06s.
We also had a big pool in the Women’s 100m. In heat 2 we saw Samantha McClune who was 3rd in a time of 12.70s and Adrienne Rennie who was 4th in a time of 12.81s. In heat 3 we had Ngai Gigya who was 2nd in a time of 12.87s and Erin Partridge who was 5th in a time of 12.94s. In heat 4 we saw Charlotte Hume who was 4th in a time of 13.21s. In heat 7 we had Lucy kernahan who was 3rd in a time of 13.96s and in heat 8 we had Lucy Bonham who was 2nd in a time of 14.62s.
In the Womens 1500m, Aneesah King Oubacha was 6th in heat 2 in a time of 5:28.32 and in the Mens 1500m Jamie Turner was 7th in heat 3 in a time of 4:43.99.
In the U17 Womens 300m, we had Ngai Gigya who was 1st in her heat with a time of 42.65s and Lucy Bonham who was 3rd in her heat in a time of 48.05sIn the U17 Mens 400m, Finlay Gillespie was 4th in a time of 56.74s and Corey Donaldson was 6th in a time of 56.90s. For the senior Women’s 400m, Lorne Kerr won the race in a time of 55.77s. In the Men’s 400m, David Wilson was 4th in his heat in a time of 50.03s and Andrew Dunn won his heat in a time of 55.08s. Branden Dunlop was 3rd in his heat in a time of 59.87s.
In the Womens 2000mSC, Becky Dunphy was 3rd in a time of 7:29.56.
Over to the field events, starting with Long Jump. In our U17 pool, Ava Mitchell was 2nd with a jump of 4.83m and Aneesah Oubacha was 6th with a jump of 4.49m. In the Womens Hammer, Mhairi Porterfield was 2nd with a throw of 45.37m. In the Senior Men’s Shot Putt, Euan Urquhart was 2nd with a throw of 13.43m and Gregory Gontor was 7th with a throw of 5.91m. In theU17 Womens Shot Putt Ava Mitchell took the win with a throw of 12.87m. In the U17 Mens Long Jump, Finlay Hall was 6th with a jump of5.43m and Angus Mcleod was 11th with a Jump of 5.02m.
In the Womens Discus, Kiera Maxwell was 1st with a throw of 42.55m, Haley Elliott was 2nd with a throw of 38.00m, Martha Johnson was 7th with a throw of 27.43m, Lucy Kernahan was 8th with a throw of 27.17m and Claire Cameron was 11th with a throw of 23.78m.
For the U17 Men in the Shot Putt, Ivor Scott was 4th with a throw of 10.50m and not too far Behind him was his brother George Scott who was 6th with a throw of 9.16m.
In the Womens High Jump, Zoe Loughery was 2nd with a Jump of 1.60m.
For the Mens Discus, Euan Urquhart was 4th with a throw of 34.58m,George Scott was 6th with a throw of 32.09m, Ivor Scott was 8th with a throw of 31.43m and Finlay Gillespie was 14th with a throw of 21.05m.
In the Senior Womens Shot Putt, Megan Porterfield took the win with a throw of 12.57m with her Mum Mhairi not too far behind in 2nd place with a throw of 11.97m. In 3rd place was Kiera Maxwell with a throw of 9.96m and in 5th place was Haley Elliott with a throw of 9.07m.
Finally for the senior Men in the long Jump, Ben McGuire took the win with a jump of 6.95m and Andrew Bennie was 10th with a Jump of 5.68m.
