The 4th and Final SNAL match saw the team travel up to Aberdeen. We went into this match with a clear lead but unfortunately didn’t finish on top.

In the women’s 400m Hurdles, Catriona Scott was 2nd in a time of 1:09.45 and Becky Dunphy was 4th in a time of 1:14.92.

For the Men in the 200m, in Heat 1 we saw Jamie Stevenson who was 2nd in a time of  22.90s and not too far behind him we had David Wilson in 3rd with a time of  23.00s. In Heat 3 we had Corey Donaldson who was 5th in a time of 24.44.

For the Women in the  200m, in Heat 1 we had  Lorne Kerr who was 5th in a time of 25.59s and Ngai Gigya who was 8th in a time of 26.97s .In Heat 2, Erin Partridge was 4th in a time of 26.54s and in Heat 3, Natalie Harrand was 4th in a time of 30.07s and Lucy Bonham was 6th in a time of 31.31s.

In the Women’s 800m, Arianna Carmichael went solo for VP and placed 5th in a time of 2:44.61. In the Men’s 800m, Andrew Dunn also went solo for VP and finished 8th in a time of 2:15.05.

In the Women’s 300m, in Heat 2 Ngai Gigya took the win in a time of 42.99s and Lucy Bonham was 5th in a time of  50.49s. 

For the Men in the 400m, in Heat 1 David Wilson took the win in a time of 50.46s and Ewan McArthur was 6th in a time of 53.59s. In Heat 2 Andrew Dunn was 4th in a time of  56.59s

In the Women’s 1500m Becky Dunphy was 8th in a time of 5:03.68.

For the Men in the 100m, in Heat 1 Jamie Stevenson was 2nd with a faulty photo finish In Heat 4 Corey Donaldson was 3rd in a time of 12.50s and Andrew Bennie was 5th with a time of 12.67s. Finally In Heat 5 Gregory Gontor was 6th in a time of 13.58s. For the Women in the 100m,In Heat 1 Lorne Kerr was 4th in a time of 12.91s and Adrienne Rennie was 7th in a time of 13.33s. In Heat 3, Natalie Harrand was 6th in a time of 14.94s

In the Men’s Triple Jump, Andrew Bennie was 2nd with a jump of 11.42m.

In the Women’s Discus, Kiera Maxwell was 1st with a distance of 42.07m,Haley Elliott was 2nd with a distance of 39.07m, Hannah Hamilton-M was 5th with a distance of 30.57m, Lucy Kernahan was 6th with a distance of 26.56m and Martha Johnson was 7th with a distance of 26.31m.

In the U17 Men’s shot Putt, Martin Ferrie was 2nd with a distance of 8.21m 

In the Men’s Discus Andrew Peck was 1st with a distance of 50.09m, Liam McIntyre was 4th with a distance of  32.12m and Dakota Sattar was 9th with a distance of 29.43m.

In the Women’s Triple Jump, Lucy Kernahan was 7th with a distance of 9.20m and Natalie Harrand was 9th with a distance of 8.61m.

In the U17 Women’s Shot Putt, Martha Johnson was 3rd with a distance of 8.47m.

In the Men’s Long Jump Ben McGuire was 2nd with a jump of  7.07m 

In the Men’s Shot Putt, Euan Urquart was 1st with a throw of 13.87m, Andrew Peck was 3rd with a throw of 12.96m, Liam McIntyre was 5th with a throw of 9.54m and Gregory Gontor was 8th with a throw of 5.95m

In the Women’s Pole Vault picking up some points was Erin Partridge jumping a height of 2.22m

In the Women’s Shot Putt, Kiera Maxwell was 1st with a throw of 10.64m and Haley Elliott was 2nd with a throw of 9.81m.

In the Women’s Long Jump, Ngai Gigya was 8th, jumping a distance of 4.60m and Jodie McMail was 7th with a distance of 4.77m. 

In the Men’s hammer, Euan Urquart was 8th with a distance of  24.68m.

VP went into Match 3 of the Scottish National Athletics league on Sunday 30th of June and ended Match 3 with a 200+ point lead. Here is a rundown of some of the fabulous performances.

Starting with the Hurdles. In the U17 Men’s 100mH, Angus Macleod was 2nd in a time of 15.07s. In the Women’s 100mH, Zoe Loughery was 4th in heat 2 in a time of 17.01s . In the U17 Women’s 80mH, Aneesah King Oubacha was 3rd in heat 2 in a time of 13.65s and Lucy Kernahan was 5th in heat 2 in a time of 13.92s.

We had a big pool in the Men’s 800m, we saw Allan Cameron who was 7th in heat 3 in a time of 2:10.44, followed by Andrew Dunn who was 2nd in heat 4 in a time of 2:01.76 and Graeme Laing who was 6th in heat 4 in a time of 2:10.17. In heat 5 we had Corey Donaldson who was 8th in a time of 2:17.24 and Finally we had Jamie Turner in heat 6 who was 7th in a time of 2:19.13. In the women’s 800m Arianna Carmichael went solo for VP and placed 4th in a time of 2:50.73.

As always we had a big turnout for the Men’s 100m. In heat 1 we had Sol Stewart who was 2nd in a time of 10.91s, In heat 2 we saw David Wilson who was 1st in a time of 11.07s. In heat 3 we saw Branden Dunlop who was 3rd in a time of 11.54s and Finaly Hall who was 8th in a time of 11.96s. In heat 4 we had Ivor Scott who was 5th in a time of 11.82s. In heat 5 we had Andrew Bennie who was 5th in a time of 11.83s and Corey Donaldson who was 7th in a time of 12.04s. In heat 9 We had John Taylor who was 6th in a time of 14.06s.

We also had a big pool in the Women’s 100m. In heat 2 we saw Samantha McClune who was 3rd in a time of 12.70s and Adrienne Rennie who was 4th in a time of 12.81s. In heat 3 we had Ngai Gigya who was 2nd in a time of 12.87s and Erin Partridge who was 5th in a time of 12.94s. In heat 4 we saw Charlotte Hume who was 4th in a time of 13.21s. In heat 7 we had Lucy kernahan who was 3rd in a time of 13.96s and in heat 8 we had Lucy Bonham who was 2nd in a time of 14.62s.

In the Womens 1500m, Aneesah King Oubacha was 6th in heat 2 in a time of 5:28.32 and in the Mens 1500m Jamie Turner was 7th in heat 3 in a time of 4:43.99.

In the U17 Womens 300m, we had Ngai Gigya who was 1st in her heat with a time of 42.65s and Lucy Bonham who was 3rd in her heat in a time of 48.05sIn the U17 Mens 400m, Finlay Gillespie was 4th in a time of 56.74s and Corey Donaldson was 6th in a time of 56.90s. For the senior Women’s 400m, Lorne Kerr won the race in a time of 55.77s. In the Men’s 400m, David Wilson was 4th in his heat in a time of 50.03s and Andrew Dunn won his heat in a time of 55.08s. Branden Dunlop was 3rd in his heat in a time of 59.87s.

In the Womens 2000mSC, Becky Dunphy was 3rd in a time of 7:29.56.

Over to the field events, starting with Long Jump. In our U17 pool, Ava Mitchell was 2nd with a jump of 4.83m and Aneesah Oubacha was 6th with a jump of 4.49m. In the Womens Hammer, Mhairi Porterfield was 2nd with a throw of 45.37m. In the Senior Men’s Shot Putt, Euan Urquhart was 2nd with a throw of 13.43m and Gregory Gontor was 7th with a throw of 5.91m. In theU17 Womens Shot Putt Ava Mitchell took the win with a throw of 12.87m. In the U17 Mens Long Jump, Finlay Hall was 6th with a jump of5.43m and Angus Mcleod was 11th with a Jump of 5.02m.

In the Womens Discus, Kiera Maxwell was 1st with a throw of 42.55m, Haley Elliott was 2nd with a throw of 38.00m, Martha Johnson was 7th with a throw of 27.43m, Lucy Kernahan was 8th with a throw of 27.17m and Claire Cameron was 11th with a throw of 23.78m.

For the U17 Men in the Shot Putt, Ivor Scott was 4th with a throw of 10.50m and not too far Behind him was his brother George Scott who was 6th with a throw of 9.16m.

In the Womens High Jump, Zoe Loughery was 2nd with a Jump of 1.60m.

For the Mens Discus, Euan Urquhart was 4th with a throw of 34.58m,George Scott was 6th with a throw of 32.09m, Ivor Scott was 8th with a throw of  31.43m and Finlay Gillespie was 14th with a throw of 21.05m.

In the Senior Womens Shot Putt, Megan Porterfield took the win with a throw of 12.57m with her Mum Mhairi not too far behind in 2nd place with a throw of 11.97m. In 3rd place was Kiera Maxwell with a throw of 9.96m and in 5th place was Haley Elliott with a throw of 9.07m.

Finally for the senior Men in the long Jump, Ben McGuire took the win with a jump of 6.95m and Andrew Bennie was 10th with a Jump of 5.68m.

The third and final match of the YDL for VP took place on Sunday the 16th of June, which saw us Finish 2nd overall in Division 2.

For our U15 Boys, in the 100m, Wai Shun Tong was 1st in the A race in a time of 12.07s and Fraser Blake was 1st in the B race in a time of 12.72s. In the 300m, Adam Thomson was 3rd in the A race in a time of 40.86s and Fraser Blake took the win for the B race in a time of 43.19s. In the 800m Tristian Wong was 6th in a time of 2:56.49. The 80mH for the U15 boys went well, Wai Shun Tong was 1st in the A race in a time of 11.83s and Tristian Wong was 2nd in the B race in a time of 17.62s.

Over in the field for our U15 Boys, starting in the Long Jump, Adam Thomson was 4th A with a jump of 4.67m and Fraser Blake was 2nd B with a jump of 4.08m. In the Shot Putt, Adam Thomson took the Win in the A pool with a throw of 8.91m and Benjamin Norris was 4th B with a distance of 4.61m. In the Discus, Benjamin Norris was 2nd A with a throw of 12.60m and Tristian Wong was 2nd B with a distance of 11.25m. In the Javelin, Benjamin Norris was 5th with a throw of 8.40m

Now over to our U15 Girls starting with the track, in the 100m, Rebecca Digger won the A race in a time of 13.13s and Hollie Mcintyre was 5th in the B race in a time of 14.78s. In the 300m Rebecca Digger took another win in the A race in a time of 44.40s and Freya Matheson won the B race in a time of 45.95s. In the 800m for the Girls, Autumn Hunter was 2nd in the A race in a time of 2:19.31 and Erin Burnett won the B race in a time of 2:26.79.

Over in the field for the U15 Girls, Starting with Long Jump, Charlotte Doyle was 1st in the A pool with a jump of 4.67m and Rebecca Digger was 1st in the B pool with a jump of 4.60m. In the Discus Erica Sigerson took the win with a throw of 19.72m. In the Javelin Erica Sigerson took another win in the A pool with a throw of 24m and Charlotte Doyle was 7th in the B pool with a throw of 5m.

In the U15 girls 3x300m we saw Erin Burnett, Freya Matheson, Autumn Hunter, Rebecca Digger, take the win for VP in a time of  03:03.71.

Now over to our U13 boys, in the 75m, Ulysses Salmon Wiand was 2nd in the A race in a time of 10.59s and Ruraidh Gall was 1st in the B race in a time of 10.87s. In the 800m, Alexander Low was 6th in the A race in a time of 2:54.39 and Ulysses Salmon Wiand was 2nd in the B race in a time of 2:47.20. In the 1200m for the Boys, Ruradih Gall was 4th in a time of 4:14.09 in the A race and Adam Ali was 4th in the B race in a time of 4:48.96. In the 75mH for the Boys, Bryn Papworth took the win in the A race in a time of 13.58s and Adam Ali was 4th in the B race in a time of 16.59s.

Over in the Field events for our U13 Boys, Starting with the Long Jump, Bryn Papworth was 1st in the A pool with a jump of 3.99m and Ruraidh was 1st in the B pool with a jump of 3.74m. In the U13 Boys Shot Putt, Alexander Low was 5th in the A pool with a throw of 5.54m and Fraser Mcintyre was 6th in the B pool with a thow of 4.44m.

Finally on to our U13 girls, in the 75m, Lucia was 7th in the A race in a time of 12.04s and Chloe Bryant was 7th in the B race in a time of 11.69s. In the 800m Caitlin Laing was 4th in the A race in a time of 2:44.89 and Freya Jarvie was 4th in the B race in a time of 2:55.01. In the 1200m, Lola Campton was 7th in the A race in a time of 4:46.84 and Charlotte Hughes was 6th in the B race in a time of 5:02.82.

In the Field for our U13 Girls, starting in the Long Jump, Lucia was 4th in the A pool with a jump of 4.56m and in the B pool we saw Caitlin Laing with a Jump of 3.24m. In the high Jump Lola Campton was 3rd with a jump of 1.15m and in the Shot Putt Lola Campton was 7th in the A pool with a throw of 5.08m and Freya Jarvie was 7th in the B pool with a throw of 3.82m.

Victoria Park City of Glasgow competed at the opening CSSAL Division 1 match at Riverside Arena, Ayr, delivering a committed team performance across all disciplines.  

Despite a smaller squad, the club showed strength in depth, with standout performances across endurance, sprints and throws.

Highlights

  • Allan Cameron delivered the standout performance of the day, winning the 800m Masters A in 2:15.52 to take maximum points, while Graeme Laing backed this up with victory in the 800m Masters B in 2:18.80, completing a superb double for the club.
  • Inioluwa Owolabi produced a strong sprint double, finishing 3rd in the 400m U18 Men A in 54.77 and 4th in the 100m U18 Men A in 11.36, contributing valuable points in both events.
  • Amy Pender and Phoebe Bonham led the throws group, combining for valuable points, with Amy finishing 2nd in the Shot Putt U16 Girls A with a throw of 8.54m, while Phoebe secured 4th in the Javelin U16 Girls B with 9.93m.
  • In the younger age groups, Anya Walker impressed with a 2nd place finish in the 80m U12 Girls A in 12.22, while Isla Thomson also claimed 2nd place in the 100m U16 Girls A in 12.59, both delivering strong sprint performances.
  • Gregor Davidson contributed well in the field events, finishing 3rd in the Discus U14 Boys A with a throw of 12.29m, adding important points in the throws competition.

Across the board, athletes contributed vital points, particularly in the middle-distance events, where consistent scoring helped maintain competitiveness.

Victoria Park finished 8th overall, with a total of 262 points, but the result does not fully reflect the number of strong individual performances and event wins achieved on the day.
